The past few years, Jeep® has upped the ante with several exciting SUV offerings, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Cherokee, and Jeep Liberty. These vehicles have received across-the-board critical and commercial praise, but that’s just not enough for Jeep. The automaker has always been one that is never satisfied with success, which is why it wants to up the ante even more with a line-topping SUV that’s set to arrive in 2018.
Here at Bemidji Chrysler Center, we don’t yet know many specifics about the upcoming Jeep SUV aside from what was announced just a few days ago. Longtime Jeep enthusiasts will be sure to notice that the name of the SUV, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, sounds a bit familiar. This is because the Grand Wagoneer was the name of a previous Jeep vehicle that was known as the first luxury SUV. In production from 1963 through 1991, the original Grand Wagoneer pioneered the sport utility vehicle concept, with its independent front suspension, power steering, and automatic transmission. Eventually, the Grand Wagoneer was supplemented by the Jeep Grand Cherokee that continues to be produced to this day.
Come 2018, visitors to our Jeep dealership will be treated to the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer model. In a conversation with “Autocar,” Jeep brand director Michael Manley said the model “is a big focus and will fill out the brand at the top.” What this means is that the Grand Wagoneer will be positioned at the top of the Jeep line and that it will compete with other ultra-luxury SUVs. Until the Grand Wagoneer hits dealer lots, we invite you to come check out the current Jeep lineup right here at Bemidji Chrysler Center!
