If you haven’t stayed on top of the pickup truck market in the past few years, you may think that pickups are still solely utilitarian vehicles driven by blue collar workers and contractors. While trucks like the 2016 RAM 1500 are indeed more powerful than ever before, the RAM line of trucks has helped usher in a new era of comfort, in-cabin technology and family-friendly safety features in the pickup truck segment. If you’re a Bemidji driver shopping for the 2016 RAM 1500, you have many different configuration options. First off, the heavy-duty truck comes in three different body styles: regular, Quad and Crew. It also comes in three different cargo bed sizes: 5-foot-7, 6-foot-4 and 8-foot. You’ll also have 11 different trim levels to choose from, ranging from the base Tradesman to the ultra-luxurious Limited.
Under the hood, the 2016 RAM 1500 has a few different engine options, depending on what trim you choose. The base engine is a 3.6-liter gasoline V6 engine generating 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Moving up, you can opt for a monstrous 5.7-liter V8 engine with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. If you’re looking for something different, choose the V6 EcoDiesel engine, which is a diesel engine that’s both powerful and fuel efficient.
In terms of entertainment and comfort features, the 2016 RAM 1500 is simply loaded. Most trims include the Uconnect Access infotainment system, which comes with Wi-Fi hotspot capability, online/emergency services and a seven-speaker audio system.
