Last year, the 2015 RAM 1500 burst onto the scene boasting a new EcoDiesel engine that broke fuel efficiency records in a pickup truck. Now that the new 2016 model of the famous light-duty pickup truck has arrived on the lot here at Bemidji Chrysler Center, and it retains its excellent fuel efficiency but adds some new tough and durable features, a couple new trims, and a souped up engine.
The first addition to the new 2016 RAM 1500 is the Laramie Limited trim, which lies at the top of the line of the new trucks. It is similar to the Laramie Longhorn, but with fewer cowboy-themed bits and more special materials, silver pinstripes, dark wood, and Berber carpets. The next new model is the Rebel, which is an off-road focused trim of the 2016 RAM 1500. This trim features an unmistakeable RAM badge across the front and similar treatment along the tailgate. It also adds additional skid plates, tow hooks, and durable 17-inch wheels.
Moving on to under the hood, both drivers looking for efficiency and drivers looking for power will be impressed with the offerings on the 2016 RAM 1500. First up is the popular 3.6-liter V6 that offers 305 horsepower and 270 pound-per-foot of torque. Next up is a beastly 395-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V8. If you’re the environmentally conscious type, or just want to save at the pump, choose the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6, which cranks out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-per-foot of torque, while also achieving 28 miles per gallon on the highway. All three of these engines are matched to a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.
