After an extremely successful 2015 model year that included the groundbreaking EcoDiesel engine, RAM vehicles are getting ready for another round. The famed line of pickup trucks has always been about pushing boundaries, whether you’re talking about the EcoDiesel engine, the vast array of interior features, and overall toughness, and the 2016 versions of the trucks are shaping up to be more winners. Here at Bemidji Chrysler Center, we are thrilled to say that we have learned that the 2016 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 will be hitting our lot late in 2015.
We don’t have a whole lot of information yet about the 2016 RAM 1500 or 2500, but some output figures were announced for the monstrous 3500, and they’re looking better than ever. Year after year, RAM keeps upping the ante of its heavy-duty trucks, and the 2016 RAM 3500 is going to feature a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline six-cylinder engine. Matched with the optional Aisin six-speed automatic transmission, this beast will crank out 900 pound-per-foot of torque, more than ever before. Even when equipped with the standard six-speed automatic transmission, the Cummins will create 800 pound-per-foot of torque, as well as 670 pound-per-foot when equipped with a six-speed manual.
If you’re looking for a capable and durable work truck, the 2016 RAM 3500 is shaping up to be a must buy. In addition to the massive torque output, the heavy-duty beast will also be able to tow up 31,210 pounds. While you’re waiting for these new RAM vehicles to hit our lot, the 2015 iterations are more than capable of carrying the load, thanks to their variety of engine and transmission options.
