The 2016 RAM 1500 pickup truck is about to get a lot more noticeable. Observant fans of the RAM truck may recall the Rumble Bee Concept, which was a black and yellow version of the standard single-cab RAM 1500 that appeared at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise. Many people speculated that this bright yellow hue might appear on a mass market version of the RAM 1500, and now it appears that they are correct. The newest version of the 2016 RAM 1500 will be the visually aggressive 1500 Stinger Yellow.
Here at our International Falls, MN-area RAM dealership, we caught a glimpse of the new Stinger Yellow RAM truck, and we think it’s best thought of as a spiritual successor to the Rumble Bee concept. In terms of looks, it’s also similar to the Ignition Orange special-edition 1500 that was offered last year. As you can probably guess, the Stinger Yellow truck is bright yellow and wears a pair of black decals on the twin hood scoops. It also boasts silver-painted alloys and standard five-spoke 22-inch wheels. On the interior, RAM spokespeople say that the cabin’s color scheme is the inverse of the exterior, featuring black materials interspersed with light black chrome and yellow accents.
Elsewhere, the new RAM 1500 will come with one available engine, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that cranks out 395 horsepower. This beast is matched to a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission. Like the other versions of the 2016 RAM 1500, the Stinger Yellow iteration will feature a vast suite of interior technologies centered around the Uconnect infotainment system.
